The Future of American Liberalism?
Submitted by Anonymous on Mon, 01/31/2011 - 12:10am
Panel Abstract:
Over the last thirty years, American social liberalism has gone into decline. The brand of liberalism championed during and after the New Deal has been under attack from the right and largely abandoned by the mainstream of the Democratic Party. In the wake of the financial meltdown, this panel will examine the extent to which the American liberalism of the past has maintained its viability or if progressives need to look for new models and solutions.
