How to Achieve Solidarity in the Electoral Arena - A Debate
Submitted by leftforum on Tue, 02/08/2011 - 4:40am
Panel Abstract:
This workshop will explore the two positions on electoral action dividing activists in the movement on whether or not to work within the Democratic Party or to try to build alternatives to the two major parties. There will be two presenters from each position and a chair who can make remarks. The discussion will focus on the tactics used in the last Presidential election and the last Congressional election to analyze successes and failures of the Progressive Democrats and the Green Party's alternative strategies for change. Can solidarity be achieved without solidarity in the arena of elections in the US?
