Panel Abstract:
In response to the 2005 Palestinian Boycott, Divestment &Sanctions (BDS) call, grassroots groups around the world have organized corporate boycott and divestment campaigns in support of Palestinian rights. This panel will present an overview of the Global BDS Movement, with a focus on several U.S. initiatives—Adalah-NY’s Leviev campaign, CODEPINK’s Stolen Beauty Ahava boycott, and Jewish Voice for Peace’s TIAA-CREF divestment campaign—as potential models for other organizations seeking to do Palestine solidarity work.
