HOW TO SUBMIT A PANEL OR WORKSHOP

This panel and workshop submission process allows you to submit your proposal through the online submission form process. You can then update its information as needed. The deadline for submitting panels and workshops is April 6th 2014 (now extended to April 27th: rooms for panels submitted in this extension period will be available subject to available room space). Please submit as soon as possible. As we move through the panel/workshop selection process, you will receive updates on the status of your panel/workshop, and reminders if we need any more information. This helps us to ensure that both the website and printed program are as accurate and comprehensive as possible.
Before submitting any panel/workshop proposal, make sure to carefully read through the Panel and Workshop Criteria page. Please fill in all panel/workshop information accurately without typos and put the full speaker names in each of the speaker information boxes and do not put abbreviations in the speakers boxes, like TBD (i.e., to be determined). Please always submit a different email address for each additional panelist or workshop co-facilitator. And please remember that all panelists/workshop facilitators must register for the conference (low income registration and scholarships are available: for more information click the register link on the home page). step one: setup a user account
» Click here to register a user account for panel organizers. You will be asked to provide your email and a password (please use a simple password that is easy to remember). Fill in the characters (e.g., letters) in the box/field below the password and then click the submit button. This will create your account and bring you to your user (i.e., profile) page. From this page you can conduct all of your panel submissions, updating and editing processes (see below for more details).
» Please note that if you receive an error message - when you click submit to create your new account - that indicates the email you entered is already in use, it means that the email (user name) is already used for an existing account. This usually means that you already have an account. Therefore, either you should put in the old password you used for that account or if you cannot remember it, you should click the tab above the user name box/field marked "request new password".
You will then be asked to fill in your email address (please fill in the same email address from the previous page). You will then receive a new password in your email account, which you can then use access your existing account. You will do this either by clicking the link in the email (which brings you right to the your account page) or going to the Left Forum home page (www.leftforum.org) and clicking the link marked "login" at the very top right corner of the page. Once you are on the log in page you can change your password as you like (we recommend using a simple password that you will easily remember).
» Remember to click "submit" at the bottom of the page in order to complete you transaction and open your account and/or access your existing account.

» Please note that you can only log in once you have created an account (which you can use to submit your panel proposal(s) and update it. Follow the instruction above to create an account. If you already have an account you can follow the instructions here:
Click here to login to the site using your email (username) and password. You can also find this Login link in the top right-hand corner of every page. Note that if you forgot your password and received a new one by email you can use this password to log in to your account. You should then change your password in the boxes/fields provide on the log in page.
» We recommend changing your password immediately to something that is easier to remember. To do so, click here, or 'Account info' in the left menu, to view your information. Next, click 'edit' to update your password, email or mailing address.
» Once logged in, a new menu will open up on the left. This menu contains all of the links and information that you will need throughout the panel/workshop organizing process.
step three: submit your panel/workshop proposal
» Ready to submit? Click here if you are already logged in to submit your proposal.
All panel/workshop submissions and panel/workshop updating processes open up only after you create your account. They are accessible only after you log in to your account, which you must do every time you visit the website and want to access and/or update your panels. To do this you click login on the front page. It will take you to your user account page. There you can create a new panel or update your existing panel. You will see the appropriate text and links (that you click) to do that. If you forgot how to do this, please read steps one and/or two above.
» Please be sure to provide us with your panel or workshop title, an abstract, your contact details, and if possible, some indication of proposed speakers.
» Don't worry about getting all the information in at once – we understand that the specifics may change closer to the date. If your proposal is accepted, you will be able to fill in the gaps later on.
» If you are having trouble submitting, check that you have filled in the required fields, as marked by a red asterisk: * .
step four: edit or update your panel/workshop or submit a new panel/workshop
» As with the process of submitting a new panel/workshop, to edit or update your panel or to submit a new panel you must log in to your account. Once you do that you will be prompted to your user page and you can click the appropriate text links to edit or update your panel, or to submit a new panel. If you forgot how to do this, please read steps one and/or two above.
» As we move through the panel/workshop selection process, you will see updates on the status of your proposal(s) on this page. Closer to the conference, you will receive the day, time and room scheduling information
