This panel will identify specific Syrian and Iranian progressives (feminists, labor activists, human rights activists,political prisoners, Kurdish activists) who oppose the authoritarianism of the Assad regime and the Iranian regime, as well as religious fundamentalism, imperialism and war. It will suggest ways in which we can express our solidarity with their struggles.

He has traveled widely, including to Egypt during the Arab Spring and he maintains a blog site, oaklandsocialist.com, and is on the editorial board of the North Star.
