Description/Abstract of your Event:
Considering the ongoing shift and crisis of political landscape in the U.S.A. but also in Europe, that is deepening and radicalizing persistently, the emergence of new political subjects now seems more inevitable than ever before. Alternative, counter political or counter-establishment movements are constantly appearing in a move to reorganize the way politics is done and communicated. These new political bodies demand change: new political and social agenda, sharp and immediate measures against inequalities, social injustice, the fraud economics of Wall street and the dictatorship of the banks, climate change, the constant state of war and the resulting politics of fear, supervision, exceptional authorities, escalating violence etc. This is something that we do understand very clearly in Europe and we have to face together on both shores of the Atlantic Ocean. It is a political and historical duty of the European Left in this unprecedented situation to hold out hand, start communicating and building an alliance with the American leftist parties, movements and organizations. That is a crucial point of the global struggle and the globalization of resistance. Together we are stronger, therefore communication and cooperation with our American and Canadian partners is of utmost importance at the moment. How to find the best fields of cooperation and exchange the most effective experiences between the North American Left forces and the European Left?
Description/Abstract of your Event:
Humanity is making significant strides in science and technology growing its ability to sustain a much bigger population than currently lives on the planet, liberating humans from menial labor through automation while making significant strides towards creating livable environments outside of our Mother Planet Earth and planning intergalactic colonization. However... here are some of the sub-humanization processes currently working full-throttle all around the globe: Growing income inequality, unemployment/underemployment, commercializing human life, health-sector cannibalism, corporate encroachment of natural resources, forces and ecological habitats, homelessness, mental illness, drug addiction, PTSD, moral injury, child trafficking and abuse, sexual predation, terrorism, apartheid, state and police brutality, subverting democratic process, lobbyists negating the vote of the citizens, corrupting the justice system, narcotics trafficking, modern slave-trade, illegal immigration, war-mongering, weapons of mass misinformation and destruction, hate-mongering, race baiting are some of the phenomenological aspects of the pathogenies afflicting our society. These ailments threaten to shred the human fabric that holds all together into pieces in a species-lethal way. The above assessment echoes the arguably prophetic writings of 19th century independent thinker Henry George in his monumental work: Progress and Poverty (published 1879). Correct diagnosis of the insidious forces that cause and feed this spreading cancer while resisting policies that would reverse its growth and eventually heal it completely is needed, especially in an era when people seem to protest and demand policies that have the opposite effect from the one they desire. Solutions and strategies for efficient dialectic discourse and remedial political action will be openly discussed.
Description/Abstract of your Event:
Ill-perceived nefarious Globalized geopolitical agendas seem to be coming to a harsh conflict with local National States and local communities interests. The mythology behind the invisible hand of globalization creating a rising tide that would raise all boats has come to a rude awakening, with the palpable destruction of the middle/working classes with the simultaneous brutalization of impoverished native populations of resource rich yet cash poor countries forced into migration to the benefits of an infra-national rent-extraction elite which funnels its illicit rent profits into usurping national democracies by undoing election/referendum results while arm-twisting elected governments into fire-sales of National wealth, enslaving the national working class , while empowering global criminal narcotics and slave trafficking networks. Many otherwise well intentioned professional activists and career Politicians (mostly on the Left) are duped into euphemistically masqueraded elitist anti-human strategems: Killing human beings in the womb is subverted into a "Woman's undeniable human right to abortion"! "Spreading Democracy" is code-word for war-crimes, war-mongering and hate-peddling... "Open Border Immigration" is another code-word for enhanced human trafficking, enslavement of workers and sexual exploitation of women... "Pro-Social Welfare" is another masqueraded campaign to pour more public funds into the coffers of Rent-Seeking Real Estate Elites and Government contractors. In this panel we examine multiple aspects Global Geopolitical Economic arena and discuss the battle between Sovereign National Communities against Neo-Colonial, Neo-Imperial Globalized Rent-Seeking elites. Humanity is at the crossroads... one road leads to perennial globalized conflict while the other to an empowered bottom-up cooperative prosperity for all.

Description/Abstract of your Event:
Puerto Rico – The Sun Still Rises This workshop is about hope – what the people of Puerto Rico, on the island and in the states, can do to raise themselves up. Hurricane Maria compounded the economic crisis on the island. Based on all environmental indicators and climate change, the next hurricane could be more powerful. In addition, the government is suffering from a severe debt crisis. Blaming the US for their slow response is legit – maybe that is the role of the US as ‘colonizer’ – the question is what ‘colonized people’ should do to free themselves? Capitalism and colonialism have clearly failed as a development model for island. What alternatives are springing up on the island, and what have other countries done in similar situations? What can progressives in the US do to help the island?
