Description/Abstract of your Event:

This panel will explore how women experience and fight back against the crises of capitalism and democracy from the standpoint of Marxist-Humanism with three different vantage points: How women fighting against rape in Turkey, India and the U.S. have shown a more revolutionary stance coming from global women’s movements; how women in the revolutionary struggle against Assad and fundamentalist Islamist groups in Syria have created a unique humanistic philosophic stance with universal implications; and how women in Detroit have taken leadership roles in a grassroots multifaceted resistance to the war against the working class raging in the U.S. heartland. The panel will discuss women’s indispensability to revolutionary projects so that if they are left out, left behind, or told to wait until after revolution to fight for their freedom, no successful, lasting revolutionary change is possible.
