How to submit a panel or workshop

 

To submit a new panel please click here. Before you click the link make sure you registered an account on this new website (old website users need to re-register) and that you are logged in.

 

Before we start with the how to please remember this:
When you are logged in you can see all proposed events here.

When you want to edit your previously submitted panel look for you panel title and click on it, the next page should have an "edit" link. Click on that and you can edit your panel information.

When you clicked the submit a new panel link above, the next page which should be displayed in your browser will look like this:

 

 

 

 

On this page please ignore the red box and the elements at the bottom saying, "Revision information" and "Revision log message" !

When you typed in your panel/workshop or film screening title, hit the green "Save" button.

 

The next page which should show up in your browser should look like this:

 

 

 

On this page just click the "Edit" tab, next to the "View" tab, below the green box. You can ignore the rest.

Panel Proposal/Workshop Information

Abstract  
Abstract/Description of your panel/workshop/film screening, do not keep it to long. Give an overview on what this event is about, what do you want to address in the discussion/presentations.
 

Host/Sponsor   Fill out if your panel is organized by a specific group/organization or if the event is sponsored by someone. This shows up in the printed program guide.


Panel/Workshop Topics Select under which panel topic categories your event will fit in. Helps later in displaying on our website.


More Panel/Workshop Information
Diversity of Persepctives *     (Any form field with a star * is required information, you must fill those out!)

In this diversity of perspectives information you can select between two options:

1. Our event has a diversity in race AND gender, and our speakers/facilitators do not all come from the same group.
2. I will work on the diversity of perspectives by adding other speakers/facilitators later.  
When your panel/workshop has not a diversity of perspectives it might get no approval in the vetting process of the board of Left Forum

Reading List     Here you can provide a list of literature (eg. bibliography of books and articles you think are useful for the discussion or for exploring/learning more on your panel topic. You can also add internet links to articles or links to videos, podcasts, websites etc.)

Register! *   At Left Forum all speakers, chairs, panel organizer need to register for the conference. Only low income individuals may receive ticket waivers/scholarships - which will need to be requested at register AT leftforum.org. Please tick, "Yes" to indicate that you are aware of this.

Chair/First Facilitator   At Left Forum, "Chairs" can have the role as a speaker too. However, chairs need to faciliate and moderate the panel. For a workshop, at least three facilitators are needed. The first facilitator's name should be typed here. Names, emails and affiliations have to be filled out. Biographies are very useful and it is recommended that you include this information.
