Volunteer Training Session
Attendance at the Left Forum Volunteer Training Session is highly recommended. While not mandatory, we strongly recommend that all volunteers attend Training as there will be limited time for on-site training during the event. Two options are being offered: Sunday, June 23rd (from 3:00 PM - 4:30 PM) or Tuesday, June 25th (from 6 to 7:30 PM), with pizza and beverages served. Training will take place in Downtown Brooklyn, NY near the conference venue. After you complete this Volunteer Form and select your role and day/time slot, you will receive a separate email inviting you to participate in a Training session.

Specialized Volunteer Shifts
Speaker/Panelist Tech Set-Up
Volunteers assist with computer and project set-up at the beginning of each panel session. Although these volunteers must be on their feet while working, they often have down-time between sessions. Tech Set-Up volunteers should be comfortable with tasks like turning on the computer, turning on the projector and plugging in a flash drive for panel speakers. Since you will not be responsible for any troubleshooting beyond these basic tasks, a supervisory Tech volunteer will be on call to handle more serious tech problems should they arise. Technology used at the Left Forum will be reviewed in the Volunteer Training session.
