Biography:
RANDY CREDICO is a political satirist, radical activist, standup comic/mimic , ex-and former Democratic primary challenger to Chuck Schumer for U.S. Senator from New York. But right now, as you read this, Randy is in the crosshairs – the crosshairs of everybody – from the Mueller Grand Jury to the Senate Judiciary Committee to the House Judiciary Committee to FOX News to MSNBC to CNN to Roger Stone, who has publicly threatened to kidnap Credico’s therapy dog Bianca if he dared testify against Stone to the Mueller grand jury. (Spoiler alert: Randy did testify against Stone, and has set up a round-the-clock kidnap watch on Bianca.) But being in the crosshairs is nothing new to Randy Credico. As America’s most busted political satirist since Lenny Bruce, Randy has probably been arrested more times than any living American performer -- most recently with Cornel West at a protest demonstration against New York’s stop-and-frisk policies. A nationally acclaimed standup comic, social gadfly and political satirist, he gave up his hotshot show-biz career for political activism after years of playing in Las Vegas hotels and casinos and comedy clubs throughout the country. During the Central American Contra Wars, Randy founded Comics Against the War, which performed weekly in front of the U.S. Embassy in Nicaragua, to the great annoyance of Ronald Reagan. In fact, Randy later had the unique honor of being banned from further appearances on The Tonight Show by Johnny Carson after his anti-Reagan jokes freaked out Carson’s mainstream TV audience. Randy also ran against Bill De Blasio for mayor of New York in 2013 and against Andrew Cuomo for governor in 2014. (Flash: He lost both times.) Randy’s combination of activism and edgy standup comedy became the subject of Laura Kightlinger’s award-winning documentary 60 Spins Around the Sun. (Check it out at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=96cUhhiUhw4) From 2016 to 2018, Randy hosted one of the most incendiary (and split-your-sides laughing) programs ever to air on Pacifica’s WBAI Radio Station in New York. Called “Live on the Fly,” it put a lot of noses out of joint when, in April 2017, Randy launched the his highly acclaimed (and widely denounced) series on Julian Assange (“Countdown to Freedom”), featuring transatlantic interviews with Assange himself, in real-time, direct from his exile in the Ecuadoran embassy in London. Then and now, Randy is the only Journalist in America that Assange would trust enough to talk to. As a result, half the U.S. media listened to his show in hopes of picking up a hot news tip, and half the U.S. intelligence community listened in to pick up possible incriminating information they hoped to use against Assange if they were ever lucky enough to extradite him to America. “Live on the Fly” is in its third season, co-hosted by Randy and Dennis Bernstein every week as part of “Flashpoints,” on Pacifica's Flagship station KPFA in San Francisco/Berkeley. From 1997 to 2010 Credico quit Show Business to direct the William Moses Kunstler Fund For Racial Justice. Because of his work during that period to repeal the Rockefeller Drug Laws, free the Tulia-46 drug sting victims and reform the criminal justice system, Randy received awards from the NAACP, the Drug Policy Alliance, The Union Square Awards, and the Madres de Plaza de Mayo de Argentina. On September 6th 2018, Credico appeared before the Mueller Grand Jury, and was recently subpoenaed to testify in the upcoming trial of Roger Stone. During his Left Forum panel, Randy will provide a unique insider’s view of the Mueller investigative process, a 2 yeat investigation which future histories may one day celebrate as the beginning of the end of the are the most dangerous Presidency in American history.
