Abstract: 
As organized labor continues to come under attack, how are workers using militant shop floor action to resist these attacks and go on the offensive to win tangible gains? What strategies and tactics have workers utilized to win demands from their employers? This panel will feature workers from four recent union struggles: Babeland, Citibike, Ellen’s Stardust Diner, and Verizon, to explore the different types of collective action workers are employing to win organizing victories.

Max Demers is a proud member of The Industrial Workers of the World and Stardust Family United. After 12 years as a model employee at Ellen's Stardust Diner, Max was terminated via email for his role in organizing against the unsafe and unlawful labor practices at Ellen's Stardust Diner. He is one of over 30 former employees illegally fired since September. The NLRB has since filed complaint against the company on behalf of the illegally terminated workers. Max also wrote The Tower, SFU's anthem.
